I really liked the message of this, I often feel like some kind of requirement or expectation is preventing me from being creative

This is why I think that any kind of play is good - for kids and for grown ups. Creativity is a skill and a mindset that needs to be practiced, doesn't matter if it's through games, art, writing or anything else.
