Happy New Year HN

Thanks to the mods and to all the members of HN for one of the bright spots of 2020.

So many submissions, so many comments. Most of all, so many intelligent discussions.

Also, so much guidance in how to live life - with curiosity, empathy and optimism.

Times, both bad and good, will come and go. Lives will be lived and time will move on. But seeing the humanism of people, in my humble opinion, is reason for hope for a better future.

Yup, this has been a good year for me on HN. Not just that most of my posts have been featured, but also that there's been some really substantive discussion and I've learned a lot. Thanks to dang for doing the hard work of moderating the place.

Blwyddyn newydd dda HN, 2020 required an awful lot of "well let's see what the hn comments say about -this-" in response to oh so many fear mongering headlines and half stories. Glad to be here, thanks to dang and the community for keeping it what it is.

I also credit HN for my first job when I was switching from being a high school teacher to a full-time engineer.

Saw the job posting on a whoishiring thread and even though university was a long time ago for me I was able to speak intelligently about newer technologies thanks to reading HN over the years.

That's the amazing thing about HN, it's so easy to create accounts that you can make one every time you need to tell someone they're wrong or pedantically correct a minor technical error, so you can experience this glorious feeling over and over again!
