The price is not bad or at least not as bad as I had feared. It's a bit disappointing that it's 16:9 instead of 16:10 though. Being a device aimed at monitor nerds, which would include a high number of programmers, you'd think that Dasung would've used the latter.
Does anyone know if this is a reputable group? My understanding is that indiegogo is like Kickstarter. In that you are merely making a donation with the hope they will be able to follow through and give you the product as a thank you for supporting them.
According to their promotion they have already released a 13.3 inch paperlike display and sold it to customers in more than 70 countries as well as an e-ink tablet.
So I’d expect there to be a few reviews available of their products.
If you check the Indiegogo history for them, Dasung has released several previous e-ink monitors and you can find reviews of them at the various tech news sites. There are even usually a few of their previous monitors to be found on eBay so their products aren't vaporware, though one has to wonder a bit why their owners are selling them off.

electrophoretic displays, by the nature of their physics, are slow. If you're reading a book it is the best thing ever. But anything else where you want "interactivity" and it is not going to be usable in the long term.
They seem to have obsessed far more with obscure technical details than actually making the product look good.
To sell phones with great screens it's long been obvious that you need to put great content on it to play to the product strength. The equivalent here would be to have some elegant well laid out content and minimise the time on scenarios that are going to suffer, but instead they throw in some awful looking search results, and say how the graph cursor moves smoothly (charting seems like it'll be one of their weaker parts of the experience given the lack of colour). I bet the product close up is a bit better than they make it look but even the way the video is presented gives a sense it's more often blurry grey than crisp black and whites and very little of what they show convinces me it's great to read on - most of that part is outsourced to Kindle comparisons. Seems a bit like selling a car as "like a Golf" when you're not VW!
Also there's a poorly disguised edit when he's sat down by the monitor (his hand jumps). How much of a rush were they in not to think maybe they should redo that part?
>Flexible funding - This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its funding goal.
is how you usually spot scams on indiegogo

..on the other hand they ran couple campaigns already and delivered working screens. They still sell ~$1k Dasung E-Ink Paper Like 13.3. Here is one test https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pw-oCItgx8
