Ask HN: Non-Tech People on HN?

Hello everybody! The other day on a thread I meet an electrician on HN, and TBH I was pleasantly surprised.

I might have formed an idea of the stereotypical HN crowd that is too narrow of naive, but now I'm curious... who are y'all? I'm quite aware of the academics, software/hardware engineers, founders, etc... but, who else is here? What do you do for a living?

I'll start, I was a pastor :-) but it wasn't until I started in software that I came across this community.

That is so cool! I can't write to save my life, so I have certainly an admiration for those in wise in the ways of communication!

Woman, certainly bonus point! The best engineers I've worked with have been females, I think because they see and tackle projects/problems/tasks/mundane work from such a different point of view that I can't help but admire it!

Hi, I'm a landscape architect and ecologist in NZ, late 50's cauc. male, on HN (mainly) to learn about scripting, cmd/cli. Use a lot of diff. software to do design.

Neat! I've been recently falling more in love with trees and have been planing to beautify my backyard, any recommendations?

Also, if there's anything in particular about cli/scripting that you need an individual to ask, my emails is on the profile :-)
