The lockdowns have gotten so extreme that there's a desire for black market fast food. Amazing.
Amazing? Terrifying. When people are desperate for junk food, what hope so they have for the future?
What's the logic behind banning takeout food? How is that any more dangerous than getting groceries and then cooking them yourself exactly?
All governments around the world are currently on a bureaucratic regulation orgy. Let's hope it will stop soon.
How often do governments give back powers they have been granted? I don’t think barrels can roll up hills.
it's not a ban on takeout food. we have a covid lockdown which means they weren't supposed to drive out of the city- especially if it's for something as menial as fried chicken.

and takeouts are closed because they want to limit people moving around. especially in an industry where workers are easily exploited and pressured into going to work even when sick.

> it's not a ban on takeout food

The article literally says "Covid restrictions banned takeaways".

these criminals were prosecuted for crossing a border to get takeaways, not prosecuted for having banned takeaways.
If I were writing a movie script, and said this was in reaction to a disease that had a 0.2% mortality rate (or 0.02% after vaccination), everyone who read it would laugh at the ridiculousness.
The antidote is worse than the poison
