Note that in this case the Syriac alphabet does relate to Syria the country in which the script was used. Of course the script was also used in the modern-day Iraq and Iran as well, and support for a script is very different from support for a country.
wait a sec, is this post indicating that an app was rejected from the iOS app store simply for containing the string "Syria" in the binary? How would this not affect hundreds(?) of libraries?
