This is a net positive for Russia. Instead they should plaster Russia with stores.
The bigger question is...will they take this downtime to fix the broken ice cream machines in all 847 locations?
I think this is an american problem (due to the repair contracts of the ice cream machines?).

I never ran into any non working ice cream machines in western Germany.

This is not a sanction, this is support.
Temporarily? So how and when do they think this war will end??
"Temporarily" does not preclude the later choice of "okay, that went to shit, so 'permanently'". I mean, sheesh, you expect their PR people to sign off on "permanently" if there's even a glimmer of hope of reopening down the road?
They must have the same PR firm that came up with “14 days to stop the spread”.
…thus establishing a no-fry zone.

(I can’t take credit for the joke, I heard it on /r/YUROP first)

Perhaps related to the decision:

One of McDonalds main suppliers (intentionally being vague) was in the process of setting up the local supply chain (several factories and attached warehousing, admin, shipping, etc.)

The order to not just cease, but cancel all future projects in the area came through this week. A decade long project expected to come online next year, dead.

Damn. I know how long it takes to launch a project with them. What a loss, but glad to see it's being done.
They have the solution ready https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolkhoz

"Secretary of the general council of Russia's ruling party calls for nationalizing production plants of firms that have stopped operations in Russia"

Coca-Cola and now this. I don't really understand how the top companies of corporate America can decide against a customer base this large. Why are they stopping their profitble business? Dot tell me it's patriotism. They only act in self interest and for profit. Meaning they know there won't be any profit arriving from Russia and they started to cut their losses. Meaning..?
Meaning what? We know no money will flow out of Russia. You want us to keep sending money to Russia to keep the lights on?
I mean they have an international market--I imagine a boycott in Europe or America would hurt more than Russia.

Also: it helps that it's the right thing to do.

They also seem intent on making the Russian population healthier than the US one with these moves.

Given the history of Coca cola and McDonalds' effect on population health, one would think it would be more useful to 10x our exports of these poisons to our enemies.
