Very interesting read. I heard about this proof and who solved it, but glad to read the background of this.
I like this guy. The interviewer keeps on trying to take him off into softer areas and he just wants to dwell on math -good for him!
That last interview felt like more of an interrogation lol, amazing and super inspiring backstory however !

You've taken that right out of context. It's not a dismissal but an expression of amazement. As in: "I can't believe that happened!". The article clearly states the result was accepted immediately:
