The bank situation in Lebanon is so fucked up it’s not hard to see why.

I lived in lebanon from 2005 to 2010. Beautiful country, food, people, and damn the women were good looking. But it was riddled with corruption and religion-based identity politics. I was scoffed at by my friends for saying that I wasn’t religious when asked. For so much promise it was ultimately egoism and ideology that held them all back.

This story is especially interesting, given the discussion happening over at the thread about a developer Tornado Cash being arrested.
