I've had a few fundamental shifts in my understanding of human nature this decade. Trump was one. Discovering that the US government can publicly acknowledge UFOs, presumably from non-human origin, and that it won't even be in the top ten biggest stories of the year (by traffic or article count) is another.

Uh. That doesn't say some are not man made. It says some they don't know what it is, while some they are sure are man made.

I am not shocked that the journalist found an ex-DoD official with poor reading comprehension of technical language. Why does that shock you? And why do you share his incorrect read of the language?
Never said it shocked me. You're just making 'argument by assertion', a typical logical fallacy. A cogent reply would have explained how the quote in question did not imply the existence of UFOs created by humans, the subject of our discourse. Instead, you make an ad hominem attack on the subject matter expert.

I wonder if those objects are considered UFOs/UAPs by the government, and if “not man-made” just means it could be a naturally occurring meteor.
