Show HN: Vircon32 – A virtual, simplified 32-bit game console (vircon32.com)

Vircon32 is a virtual game console designed from scratch to be as simple and portable as possible. Its main focus is to actually have interesting games to play, rather than just being a programmer sandbox. Console features are in line with the 32-bit generation (PSX/Saturn): true color, transparencies, CD-quality audio, memory card... But to keep simplicity, this is a 2D machine only.

Hi all, author here. Feel free to ask. I have been working on this for 3 years but only now I feel the project is mature enough to post it here. Right now there is a finished emulator (Win/Mac/Linux/RPi), several complete games, a full specification, development tools, guides and tutorials, several repositories... Everything is free and open source, and anyone is welcome to use the console, develop for it or create their own emulators and tools.
Been watching this for a while, personally very interested to see where this goes...
Glad to see some interest. About the future, no one knows. But I can promise that I will keep working on this :)
It has an interesting choice of screen resolution, 640x360, related to smartphones _and_ modern home screens. https://ux.stackexchange.com/questions/98985/why-the-360x640...
Yes, this console has a retro profile but it also tries to be convenient for a modern user. Vircon32 screen is 16:9 and for most current resolutions you can use integer scaling (2x = 720p, 3x = 1080p, 4x = 1440p).
