The room temp superconductivity claim seems to have been debunked and people use the term "bad science" to describe the LK-99 paper[1].

Too bad for finding the miracle compound, but is there something to salvage from the research?

Indeed. There were people earnestly discussing 'prediction markets' and their analysis/probabilities that this was real.

I mean, given the condensed matter physicist in the video is essentially saying "I'm pretty sure it's wrong, based on these obvious red flags, but there's always some possibility" I suspect that the random opinions of non subject-matter experts is largely irrelevant.
