Of course we do. Please stop thinking of it as an option. It's not a hobby/toyOS that a small group of nerds plays with.

Dammit AMD, please pull your head out of your ass.
I expected it to be the other way around, with Linux being the default for Ryzen AI and an open request existing for Windows and Mac support.
I think they should ask themselves if they want a competitive product. For which linux support is a super hard, non negotiable requirement. In general tool chains that work, I would say. And especially on the #1 data center platform.
I feel like everyone is pointing out and screaming to AMD what they should do to get money, and they are still struggling to find it out.
Damn you github, I want to login after installing it as pwa with Firefox but it's looping on the input of the login page...

What is this trash from github?

Edit: sorry, it's Firefox at fault here, got the same glitchy behaviour on other PWAs.

So I'm gonna rephrase it:

Firefox what is this trash?

I'm a serious open source person, and even I'm investing in Nvidia for AI, until AMD not only matches price:performance&functionality, but also shows that they're committed to open source and Linux.

Maybe AMD is thinking of this Ryzen AI as only for consumer gaming PCs (currently primarily Windows). And/or maybe they're pressured by Microsoft to sabotage Linux this way.

Linux and other open source development tends to happen around consumer hardware. We already have enough problems with Linux and open source losing ground, due to even many random Hacker News developers creating new grassroots network effects behind Windows and Mac, instead of behind open platforms.

If AMD isn't even investing enough engineers in open source Linux for their AI products (including consumer devices), then I'm not going to bother with the extra headache of dealing with AMD AI stuff in addition to Nvidia.

If AMD is going to push us to lose further ground with open source and Linux, this is an additional way that Nvidia is looking like a relatively better choice.

Microsoft is more than happy if you use Linux, specially on Azure.

Even SQL Server containers are only supported on GNU/Linux, not on Windows containers.

AMD can manage to screw GNU/Linux users all by themselves.

Exhibit A for why NVIDIA has smoked them into irrelevance in AI.
It shouldn't be a question in the first place, if AMD wants to stay competitive.
