Supposedly there was a technical advancement named Q* that helped precipitate then OpenAI blow-up.

Right, I know that, I'm wondering what the point of this submission is.

It was a lighthearted attempt to trick people into thinking that they can interact with “Q*”.

I'll save you a click: this is a user-made joke GPT by a HN user that seems to only post every few years.

How can it be with an openai.com domain?

Subdomains are truncated in HN submission URL displays.
