Is this the kind of scam I am thinking of?
Stay tuned. I will let you know.

I hope this doesn't turn out like the CD-rewinder I wasted my money on last year.

No, this is clearly a scam, as us audiophiles know you don’t demagnetise the disc, you demagnetise the laser read/write head.
I have taken my CD player/decoder made with discretes and turned it end-over-end while slowly backing away from a strong magnet.
I hope the magnet was correctly aligned with your local ley lines.
I'm impressed that it auto detected my country (Turkmenistan), and made up a kinda sensible price in my local currency (the Turkmenistani Manat).
What's it like in Turkmenistan? I never hear good things about it [1] (crazy dictator obsessed with personality cult, no freedom, high poverty & unemployment, etc)

I'm only here for a few weeks, but it is surprisingly similar to bits of eastern Europe. The USSR was far more unifying in terms of culture than I had imagined for places so geographically far apart, and now, 35 years later, all those ex-ussr societies have evolved in similar ways - with a lot of influence from the west/USA.
It reminds me of the special red marker you could buy. You would mark the edge of the CD carefully to avoid stray laser beams distorting the sound. Or the technique of putting CDs in the freezer, because it gives a crisper sound. And don't get me started on Monster cables.

I wish I was making this up, but here's discussion: https://www.audio-forums.com/threads/freezing-cds.104232/
