Today's Republican party has completely jumped the shark. As a libertarian, I'm sympathetic that they are talking about some very real issues. But I've yet to see them come up with any policy proposals aimed at addressing those issues with general principles, rather than substance-less gestures that are charitably described as a continual campaign performance.
Perhaps it's been this way for quite some time. Today's demonized unaccountable "Big Tech" is just the previous decades' lauded captains of "private" industry - the party has a history of fostering the very problems it then later campaigns on. But having gotten to this point where attorneys general are spending time filing SLAPPs against investigative organizations for engaging in political speech, it feels like the wheels have completely fallen off the cart.
This is nothing new. Just yesterday this AG was blaming a fight between students that hospitalized one on the district's DEI programs. He also continued 7 lawsuits started by his predecessor against school districts that dared to implement mask requirements during Covid.
Missouri gets what the majority votes for, and the majority seem happy with these frivolous lawsuits.
