these providers want to be the only game in town

I have Charter and it's the only Internet wire that runs to my neighborhood, and I'd very much prefer it over the only reasonable alternative but c'mon man.

Why does the FCC need to be the one to do this? Kinda seems like something that should be handled at a state/local level via the existing laws around renting and leasing in that area?
Probably because the states aren't handling this.
Seems like Lina Khan's absence will be felt continually and immediately.
