They insinuated suicide or friendly fire, not a threat.

Where in the comment does it communicate it was a wish? Looks like an observation to me. Musk is ketamine fueled and missteping (or overstepping, depending on your view) around colleagues in an admin not afraid to commit violence against those who get in their way (per their own messaging).

Maybe you’re not looking closely? Didn’t read like a threat to me, only the obvious “which leopard is going to eat his face?” Certainly not anyone here.

Edit: You appear to be new. I recommend reading the guidelines. You have simply assumed from your own mental model.

> Please respond to the strongest plausible interpretation of what someone says, not a weaker one that's easier to criticize. Assume good faith.

Advancing political violence behind obvious insinuation and innuendo isn’t a dog whistle, it’s just a whistle.
From the guidelines…

Just flag it and don’t mention that you did so.

Also:

> Throwaway accounts are ok for sensitive information, but please don't create accounts routinely. HN is a community—users should have an identity that others can relate to.

You seem to be familiar enough with HN to @dang; nothing you’re saying here is sensitive, so please don’t defend Musk with some alt account.

This is my only account. I do not have a "flag" button.
Click on a comment's time stamp (e.g., "12 hours ago"). On that page you should have a "flag" button (if your karma is above 31, IIRC).
Thanks. These are my first comments so I don’t even have that level of karma.

I figured violence was critical enough to warrant saying something quickly. That’s not “normal but inappropriate for HN” discourse.

It’s just inappropriate and dangerous.

Finally some small pushback from Republicans against the Tech Support guy who runs with absurd numbers about 120yrs old without doing a sanity check first.

Can Congress please get some oversight in place?
