COBOL front-end added to GCC (gcc.gnu.org)

This has been planned for a while, is this news?

And now COBOL stores dates with more that two digits! I'll be sure to port my mainframe app right away!

Very nice, too bad this was not done around 30 years ago. People were begging for a GNU COBOL for Linux back then. But due to a stigma about COBOL, no one wanted to create one.

If one existed back then, the world would probably be a much different place.
