if "us" = white rich people, then, sure

Hindsight! We can now see that World War II, so far from making us safer or richer, put us on a greased slide to total political collapse; and this should also have been clear in 2014, after experiencing the eliminationist rhetoric of Reagan and G. W. Bush.
