Whether or not Dario, Sam and Elon really believe the worst-case scenarios are realistic, it's obvious that they'd like to form a cartel that they think would benefit their companies.
Seems like the economy is in far worse shape than we ever imagined, for such an eager embrace of blatant deception and criminal activity. The man who bankrupted 6 casinos is doing a serious number on the whole country. I’d say that this is going to hurt but the hurt began a few years ago.
FWIW my own personal exit strategy is to withdraw my full 401k, purchase a home outright, work on renewable utilities and prep for the economy to take a massive hit in the near future. Not quite doomsday prepping, more like it’s little cousin.
I can't help but be reminded of how Edison scaremongered around electrocution: the War of the Currents.
Edison was a proponent of distribution of DC, and so he used scare tactics to try to convince people that the competing AC, which could be stepped to high voltages for long-distance transmission, was dangerous. He staged public electrocutions of animals to spread fear.
This is much the same thing: AI is dangerous, except our brand of AI.
Edison did not electrocute any animals to spread fear. Presumably you're referring to the electrocution of Topsy the Elephant which Edison had no involvement with and took place years after the War of the Currents. You're basing your entire argument on a complete and total myth.
