Show HN: RoadRash ported to Three.js to run in the browser (roadrash.pages.dev)

Road Rash was one of my favourite PC games growing up. I wanted to play it again, but the browser emulators I tried felt sluggish, so I decided to build a browser version using Three.js.

This started mostly out of nostalgia. I wanted to be able to open a link and get back to racing and knocking people off their bikes.

Nice! I remember spending many hours playing Road Rash 3 on the SEGA Genesis. The stun baton was always fun.
With cars on, even level 1 is hard for me haha
Really cool project. What version is this ported from because no offense, it's a great technical feat, but the dos/win95 version is far superior as someone who runs it on the vintage hardware. I will admit your chase camera and tracking feels better. Just giving some constructive criticism.
So many memories! Thank you for this :)
Wow super impressive. It works so well from mobile as well! Bookmarking this :)
As a person that worked on the game at EA, I want to see credits. I recognize people in the artwork, they are caricatures of EA staff. It would be nice to see everyone's names, and then include the names of who ported this too.
Oh wow, thank you for working on RoadRash, it was a big part of my childhood. You’re right, I should have included the credits from the start. I’ve now added the full original game credits, including the art, cast and music teams. Thanks for pointing this out.
My god. Memories... And this works so smooth <3
Road Rash was a big part of my childhood. I am from India, and I used to play this in cyber cafes and on a friends' PCs. Surprised how smoothly it runs in the browser. Kicking a rival off the bike still feels just as satisfying :)
This is incredible! Nice work
