Ask HN: Design My YouTube Feed
Ctx: I'm an ML engineer. I can't stop the Youtube homepage from feeding me slop. e.g. I clicked on a bearded sales guy by mistake and my feed is now full of this guy.
I need your help. The problem: a list curated by one person is only as good as that person's taste, and mine is a handful of AI and game dev channels. I made https://kouh.me/ytfeed that pulls RSS from a hand-picked list of channels and shows the last 14 days in date order. The add box is open. Paste any tech or interesting channel that I should watch.
And if nothing comes to mind, that's ok of course. One great channel beats ten okay ones. I'd rather the list stay short than fill up. Can HN beat the YouTube algorithm? What would you add?
No Shorts, no channel with latest video older than two weeks, please.

[ 2.7 ms ] story [ 23.0 ms ] threadI make copious use of the "Not Interested" and "Don't Recommend Channel" menu items on suggested videos. And I also frequently thumbs-down videos that I watch that I don't want influencing my ranking. Doesn't help completely but I'm generally satisfied with my YT recommendations.
Not every tech tuber can crank out a video every 14 days, sometimes you only get one video every 2 months...

You can open:
https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions
And only see videos from channels you're subscribed to.
That's a good idea.
> no channel with latest video older than two weeks
Why? There are plenty of very good channels that post too seldom, because they take a lot of time to prepare the videos.
https://www.youtube.com/@AppliedScience One every two months. Amazing work, but don't expect repeat the experiment at home. The host writes comments in HN from time to time.
https://www.youtube.com/@CaptainDisillusion It looks like no videos in the last year :( Don't get distracted by the silly costume, the special effects are even better when you see the video for a second time.
