OK, this one confused me. There is Chimera Linux, and also ChimeraOS - I believe they're unrelated but I had never heard of Chinera Linux and ChimeraOS is a gaming focusses distro. Odd that there are two with Chimera in…
I've been looking at Floorp and Zen, maybe add those to your list to check out
Maybe they get some royalties by having it as an option?
I think the idea is they don't want people to use bookmarks at all and just search every time
There is a bit of a learning curve, but there is for any new platform. The devs are very responsive and looks like they're doing an enterprise version for funding. It uses Agents which run the tasks in the CI/CD jobs.
I'm going to plug https://onedev.io/ its awesome. Its self hosted and has its own tooling for CI/CD. I feel it doesn't get enough love, but I've been using it for years for my own stuff.
As someone that works with a lot of different languages - vscode has been amazing. I feel its inevitable that a majority of the plugins I rely on start requiring some sort of subscription - which I'm not looking forward…
I'm only just realizing now why I was treated so strangely after discovering a pretty severe security issue that had been in our software for about 7 years. I had only been in the team for about 12 months when I…
Whoops! I missed that somehow - thanks.
Should add the browser for SerenityOS to the examples of new browser engines.
Cathode Ray Dude recently put out a new video on YouTube and mentions "stiffys" in that too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lUhDo7euPs https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stiffy_disk
I understand the sentiment. I have the same feeling regarding the use of LibreOffice. Full of features, most of which work "OK". But its absolutely infuriating to use for anything more than just a casual…
Since we're all talking alternatives, I thought I'd point out KDE Connect. Available on all platforms and allows transferring files locally. I often use it between my laptop and android. Great software.
Wow, I didn't know about this. I often need remote desktop and its been a real pain in the past to get it running and to get it running well.
This doesn't seem to want to let me past the captcha. Bit odd.
Maybe this allows for a factory to create on demand, rather than always running to keep up with demand?
You've made a lot of good points. I've stepped into a team that is supporting a large product that has been going for years. There are so many error logs and alerts that nobody notices them any more - its so frustrating.
I bought one of these because it was like $30 and needed it to print off some stuff with color. I had immediately taken the sticker off even realizing until after the fact that they try and limit it to WiFi only. It…
It's just there to make it easier for mobile users to click it..
I'm the same, 1pm is an absolute cut off otherwise it'll be a restless night
I'm with you here, I say "its leet time" in my head. Pretty sure no one says leet anymore
When they said native, they actually just meant local.
Excuse my ignorance, but is this actually implemented anywhere else? I could find that maybe WhatsApp uses it, and that Signal has their own version of it. This doesn't seem very wide spread if thats the case.
Yea, I guess I could create that integration, but the key would be getting it included as the default on Linux installs. I like to use what is generally available, so that I'm not completely lost when I remote into an…
I'd take powershell with proper system integration over bash any day.
