I wonder how much of this is also driven by Microsofts current downward trajectory, I and others have switched to linux this year.
My 20+ year old dumb samsung TV needs replacing, and has done for a while. But it's stuff like this that makes me shy away from upgrading.

Easy to fix a well documented router now. Difficult to fix a non documented router in five years time because no one has been contributing to the web about its bug fixes.
It interesting to see how my kids barely know how computers work, but growning up on DOS, 3.1 and 95, I was basically learning to troubleshoot issues just by trying to us a computer.

Drives me insane that to see my existing Google library and shared albums I must allow Google photos access to my phones photos - at which point it turns auto back on.

This might be how Apple will start to see even more sales, the M series processors are so far ahead of anything else, local LLMs could be their main selling point.

Honestly this is iPads biggest problem. My is from 2019, and there’s just no reason to upgrade, unlike a phone I don’t need it to have a better camera or be lighter or whatever. They nailed it years ago and the hardware…
