Intel Capital participated in SiFive's Series C funding round. Besides that I don't know of anything else Intel has done for risc-v.
Not necessarily a monopoly. European states can still launch on other nations rockets. However, Arianespace is pushing for "European First" legislation to keep institutional payloads on domestic launchers.
Won't researchers just resort to Sci-Hub/Libgen? So either Elsevier cuts fees and opens up or they don't get paid at all. So it seems the Germany and Sweden will probably win out.
Saudi Arabia got a seat because there were four open spots for the Asia region and four countries put forth their candidacy. If any other Asia region country campaigned for a position Saudi Arabia would have lost.
I haven't looked at each case specifically. But I'm willing to bet that meat would lose to plants in calories/carbon in every case. Transportation does add carbon but it is often overestimated.
If meat eating is bad for the environment then people should be aware of it. It's patronizing to try and woo people into veganism or something else with "cool" stuff, whatever that is.
