The simple explanation is most of these are Excel VLOOKUPs gone wrong.
I don't think of it as a hack any more than Sirius or XM making a "control plane" signal by just interleaving the what's on or channel map in with the music signal.
Does it do this on iOS? I just cancelled RT because it crashed on my work computer all the time but if the phone app weren’t useless that might be different.
