OP is saying the regulations would be at the international level. So, I am going to have to buy a UN license to use the internet? How is that enforced? If not, then it's up to individual countries to make their citizens…

They should be nationalized to become an even better revenue stream

I think that the work culture in Europe is also a factor. Europeans are much less willing to work the way a lot of the startups expect.
It is appalling how so many people seem to have such little regard for what the consequences of the next "war to end all wars" would be.
