Every piece of available information can be used to track users. Why not just give the option to disable it? I can see valid use cases for a site knowing your battery % (e.g. having a "low power mode" on your site).

I don't see this as an "art project" as much as a fun experiment. This just shows that good producers and promoters, and having an "in" can often get you on the same level as legitimately talented musicians.
