Apple's OOB pairing works on their own hardware only. When used on non-iPhones the experience is the same as other generic BT earphones.

Just grab a regular Bluetooth earphones then. Those $20 ones may seem to be too good to be true, but they work and sound great, and you can replace them on a whim if they do die. Source: owns a cheapass Soundpeat.
Here's a cynical view: a human is cheaper to "develop" and "program" than a fully automated production plant in most third world.
This report lack a lot of technical information. What counts as "personal information"? What did they send exactly? Is sending app analytics count as personal information? Why don't you hold American software companies…

That's a 3000$+ laptop at the time, makes me miss the portability of laptops. But can you do anything productive on that thing now? How is the battery life?
