They tried that a few years ago with the iPhone 5C. We saw no difference in repair rates at the time.
The cable is the same for both devices though
Phones, sure, but there’s plenty of good productivity and creation software available for tablets. And these days, most productivity software runs in the browser anyway.

What’s wrong with the file management on iOS?
Personally, I was happy to see them ditch a proprietary charging method for something that is an industry standard.
Apple hasn't removed the headphone jack from any of their laptops.
The original iPhone SE and iPhone Mini designs are not the same.
Because it was Tim Cook that made accessibility a priority, not Steve Jobs.
I don’t want the vast majority of Google apps on my android phone, but I can’t remove them. It’s the same on both platforms.
I guess I'm weird as I don't have my phone on me 24/7. For people like me, smart watches have a lot of utility.
Attracting more developers does nothing to attract more users.
Nothing new there. Microsoft has always been very open their research, and Apple hasn't. They prefer to talk about products they will actually ship vs. things that might happen at some point in the future.
