Frontier labs trained their models on the entirety of human knowledge and didn't ask permission. It's a "want" or "should" it's a moral imperative to distill their models.
The atomic bombings of Japan killed hundreds of thousands of people but most likely "saved" millions. What should the AI do when asked if it should nuke a country?

The marketing pitch for these things was that they were supposed to induce "cambrian explosion of creations". That there was zero barrier to building anything anymore. This is surely true in programming languages…
