They didn't just pop up. Oems & their sister company Verge are already using their axial flux motors. And you can order the latest Verge motorcycle with the solid state battery today.
You can already buy Amprius's silicon anode cells at over 400wh/kg.. but they have low cycle life.
Donut Labs markets a whole suite of axial flux motors. Sized from scooters through to large trucks. But no public pricing.
It's very hard to find any supplier who will sell an axial flux motor to the public. I see lots of press from Yasa & Donut motors, but afaik no public pricing & relationships with select partners only.
