I am nostalgic for this former age too, but I don’t want it back. I don’t lack for ports, swappable bays, or removable media. Sure, the Pismo could be upgraded via a new daughter card and the hard drive was easy to…
Mine loves killing mice... rats may be a bit too big for her.
I think this is a worthy try but I am skeptical if it tastes anything like medieval beer. I imagine the malt is significantly different. Are we still using the same barley varieties as we did hundreds of years ago? Were…
Good point. Brand new homes within 10 minutes of my places of business 485K. Single family homes from the early 2000s start around 425K. You can buy from fixer uppers for around 300K. Townhomes start around 250K and go…
Same here. Though with a dry shampoo (or corn starch) I have found I can make it a few days in between washes.
It changed the way I think about "thinking". I also see myself in the father and son story. I am sorry to be so general but if I jump into the specifics I fear I would ruin them. Not because somebody else couldn't but I…

I think the question I find interesting is are these new startups generating a product that is 1) better than products already available on the market and 2) better enough to justify the 5x to 10x price? I don't know…
I suggest checking out the Mr Money Mustache forums. Specifically the Case Study forum. I was in a similar place to you (though with less children), and it took about two years of changes but I now save about 70% of my…

Three things occur to me as I read this article: 1) Toilet paper seems like a necessity. 2) In America, we treat our prisoners horribly. We are going to look back on this in a 100 years with the same disdain we look…
Coffee increases my anxiety and anger but I love the taste and the ritual. I have quit multiple times only to come back after a couple of months. This usually occurs because I drink too much alcohol one night and need a…
I agree. Perhaps it was just easier to ignore when we weren't sitting directly next to our children. At least it was for me.
I was disappointed the first time I took mushrooms because I didn't see pink elephants. I thought I hadn't taken a high enough dosage. In its place I took a deep trip that allowed me to reflect on where I was in my…
I believe you are correct. Though, these moves often have the opposite effect on me. Especially with the name plastered over every object.
A few things that jump out to me: Toyota LandCruiser 100, Casper Glow Light, MacBook Air and Design With In Reach Theater Sofa.
I agree. Had I been given the choice of no windows or no roommates, I would choose no roommates.
I second this. I would also add it negates my need to rent a car when traveling about 80% of the time.
Though some what off topic: Even though style may dictate a different carbonation level. Draft beer is typically carbonated to around 2.4 volumes so it pours on most draft systems at bars. If you carbonate beer to far…
I stopped reading half way through and came back to the comments to complain about how this was unreadable. Then I found your comment.Thank you.
Do you use an external display or just a laptop screen when nomading?
I wonder if there is a way to hedge the potential losses by picking an underlying asset that follows the rental market more closely? The best I can come up with is to own and rent a similar property to the one you would…
I agree. I said something a couple of weeks ago that I no longer agree with and I am in my 40s. My mind can be changed, I see that as a positive.
I wish this library existed! I have been thinking about something like this for the past few years and how it could be accomplished.
Does that equate to 50% of the base hourly pay?
