Try MoSMB. It's proprietary, but we have had good results with it on CephFS.

I bridge Signal/Whatsapp/Telegram and you can absolutely start chats through the bridge bot. It might be a little inconvenient, but for the rare occasion I do need it, it works absolutely fine.

Just tried ST4 over the weekend and decided to switch from VSCode. Basically got everything set up exactly the same, but ST4 feels a lot better/faster.
