I like that I can filter by a specific area, but I wonder if people would be better served to get down to regions instead of a city. Dallas is pretty big, and I don't want to drive from Love Field all the way to…
My brother in Christ... $1400 for a coffee grinder and espresso machine?! I am into mechanical keyboards and IEMs and that feels outrageous to me. I'll spend $40 on a pen, but that price point feels insane to me. Maybe…
Get lucky and get an interline agreement with a larger pax-facing carrier? Sure no one is going to ride on your little cargo planes but your crew gets to fly on someone elses metal.
Ahh you are right, I had the situation reversed in my head. It would be the false high reading that would be the issue. That is good to know there are some safeguards in place to prevent an over-correction. And I agree…
My wife is T1D and she is really scared about the idea of moving to a closed loop system with a pump, but her endo is constantly pushing her towards it even though she is keeping her A1C at like ~6% with her Dexcom CGM.…
The gradient on your section headers is nearly illegible towards the end of the word. The "Ready to dive in? Start your free trial today" at the bottom of the page is the worst offender You might also want to update…
Oh yeah, since there is a built in feedback loop with the person I am interacting with, I was able to start recognizing patterns of how to shift ways that I inherently think/phrase something to be better received by…
I have no doubt that Google is hamstringing performance on Firefox. But that is far outside of my sphere of control so I am focusing on the things I can effect. Another member recommended disabling hardware acceleration…
I haven't. That was recommended to me by someone else and something I am going to look into. I would have assumed that offloading the video processing to the dedicated GPU would be a good thing, but hopefully that helps…
I wonder what will happen to the term "Steam Beer" now. If I remember correctly, after the end of prohibition Anchor claimed ownership of the term "steam beer" even though it is a name of a style of beer and forced any…
Funny enough, I just posted on Mastodon looking for recommendations of other browsers to try. While I love the flexibility and openness that Firefox brings, there is a resource issue for me on my macbook pro. I have to…
For those in Chicago - I highly recommend the International Museum of Surgical Science: https://imss.org/ Tons of old surgical implements, some death masks, and a lot of really interesting information.
Yes, the release of the Steamdeck did wonders for pushing AAA gaming forward on Linux. There was just an article on the front page earlier today about 75% of the top 100 games on steam running on linux, with the…
One thing that may help is standing up a simple product landing page to describe what the product is and linking off to the app store. When I tried to search just for "Pixelist" on DDG I didn't see the app on the first…
In a similar vein - Ratio by Michael Ruhlman does a great job of breaking down the whys of recipes so you can start exploring and making things your own. https://smile.amazon.com/Ratio-Simple-Behind-Everyday-Cookin...

I enjoy crunchier board games, but the fun from games usually comes from playing them with others and most of the people I know don't enjoy games that take a non-negligible time to set up and explain the rules. When…
I'm a big fan of Oak[1][2] since it is free, but unfortunately it is iOS only. Being able to have on-demand guided breathing and meditation exercises without having a monthly cost make it good enough™ for me 1:…
It is one of the most impressive uses of "scrolljacking" and made it really easy to focus on the points of interest in the video.
In the UX world they are usually called urgency or scarcity triggers [1][2]. They also play in to the social default bias [3] people tend to have, where when alone you tend to do things that you know others have done.…
There are some nice "minimal" launchers out there that restrict you to essentially a phone, camera, and messaging app. It adds a hurdle to accessing the apps that are easy to waste time in. While now 100% the same as…
I was just looking for something like this - a way to aggregate all my chosen feeds across multiple services. It sort of feels like the next iteration of Fever[1] [1] - https://feedafever.com/
Here's two more for you 1. The American Sign Museum - https://www.americansignmuseum.org/ - Cincinnati, OH. Dedicated to preserving neon signs from across America 2. The International Museum of Surgical Science -…
I really enjoyed the Metro UI. I felt like the tiles displayed the right level of information where I could quickly glance at my phone and see if there was anything important that needed my attention, while helping to…
